Tantalum is a highly specialized technology metal with exceptional heat resistance, conductivity and corrosion resistance. It is central to the production of high-performance electronics, medical technology and superalloys.

Tantalum is mined in small quantities worldwide - mainly in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Nigeria, Brazil and Australia.

The majority of tantalum is used for tantalum electrolytic capacitors - primarily in mobile devices, vehicles, industrial plants and aerospace technology.

Other areas of application: Medical technology (e.g. implants), superalloys, coatings and high-tech cutting tools.

The German Commodities Group trades tantalum in the form of concentrates, metal powders and processed intermediates - traceable and ESG-compliant.
