Objective of the position

As Sourcing Manager Energy build a resilient network of producers, state-owned companies and midstream partners for crude oil, natural gas and LNG. You will negotiate offtake and pre-finance structures, ensure logistical capacities and transfer tradable volumes to the trading desk. Their focus is on the entire upstream-to-trader chain - from the well to the transfer to terminals, pipelines or LNG slots.

Core tasks

Subject area Typical activities
Producer Origination - Identification of new sources of supply in Europe, MENA, West Africa
- Establishment of offtake, pre-payment and joint marketing agreements
Contract Structuring - Negotiation of contract parameters (Incoterms; quality requirements)
- Design of payment and credit protection models
Logistics & Infrastructure - Securing terminal slots, tank storage and pipeline capacities
- Coordination of chartering decisions
Technical & Quality Assurance - Evaluation of crude blends, gas qualities, LNG specifications
- Organization of independent Q&Q analyses and laytime management
Compliance & ESG - Implementation of EITI, EU Energy Security and Sanctions requirements
- Introduction of ESG screenings and due diligence processes
Stakeholder interface - Transfer of tradable flows to Trading, Risk, Logistics, Legal
- Close cooperation with banks, inspectors and port operators

 

Technical requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in upstream procurement, origination or trading of crude oil, gas or LNG
  • Sound knowledge of contract, payment and security mechanisms (PSA, SPA, tolling, L/C, SBLC)
  • Practice in the management of terminal, storage and pipeline assets as well as chartering processes
  • Business fluent in German and English; French or Arabic an advantage
  • Confident handling of ETRM systems, market and logistics data (ICE, Platts, Genscape)
